astraea jade avery comes from a wealthy pureblood family. i'm sure you've heard of the averys. her father is a death eater who works at the daily prophet and her mother is your regular posh housewife. astraea is a completely different person outside of hogwarts. at school, she can be her true self and not have to look and act presentable all the time. back at home, astraea's a goody two shoes that obeys her parents. she learned her lesson by being punished with the cruciatus curse casted by her father when she was ten.

astraea is a very sarcastic and witty person. getting in an argument with her would be pointless since she won't stop until she wins. her determination is a good trait to have since she's in the quidditch team. she might seem cold and distant to strangers and muuggleborns, but deep down there's a fragile person hidden inside of her. the only ones who know that person are her best friends. astraea likes to manipulate people and trick them for the fun of it.

i imagine astraea would have many friends in slytherin and a couple in ravenclaw mainly those who support lord vodemort like she does. she's protective when it comes to her friends and family. as for enemies anyone on the side of the order of the phoenix. it's not wise to get on her bad, she may look like she's not tough but this girl can fight for her life with or without magic. however, astraea chooses not to engage in physical fights. as for lovers, she has trouble expressing her feelings and afraid to fall in love. her parents will end up arranging her a marriage so to her it's pointless to fall in love, but it doesn't mean that she's not a believer. astraea won't be afraid to open her heart when the right person comes along. until then she's sticking to casual dates and possible one night stands. so plot my baby up <3

evidently not going to be the friendliest of acquaintances or meetings since i imagine astraea would have been informed to avoid anyone who denied their pureblood customs and especially those who were so anti-everything they stand for as to be sorted into the opposing house at hogwarts. but, all in all, i imagine sirius might return the favour. obviously he intends to avoid his close family at all opportunities, but if there's a chance to mock or tease a slytherin immensely, how could he pass up on the chance? his main target will evidently be poor severus, but there's many places reserved for those who are up themselves on pureblood traditions. i imagine he'd find her not completely unattractive either. (; so, perhaps not fully-fledged angry death glares and pushing her over in the corridor, although he might be tempted to do the latter to annoy her further, i think he'd definitely enjoy the opportunity to wind her up. any ideas, editing or deletions are welcomed always!

holy kit harington! astraea would definitely be informed to stay away from the black sheep of the black family (sirius and andromeda) and interact with them at all cost. she always thought if sirius were at their side he would have been a great death eater, but of course it will never happen. i could see them bantering and teasing each other in the halls. it's not only because he's a blood traitor that she dislikes him, but his overall personality irritates astraea and the fact that he bullies severus makes her angry. so these two would argue a lot, although she won't admit it but astraea actually enjoys teasing sirius. it would be funny to see them being assigned to work together for an assignment in class. thoughts?

so tempting a rivalry, i have to say! there's a lot of potential for teasing and criticism of each other, for her the reasons you've described and his own obvious hatred of everything their pureblood upbringing stands for. it's interesting that she secretly thinks he would have been good in their dark evil forces league (that's the name for it, according to sirius) but of course, the chances of him ever finding this out are very, very slim. in return, he probably doesn't hate her as much as others, although it would be difficult for him to hate anyone more than his dear, abrasive parents. i do like the idea that they might be forced to be more civil on some occasions, again because of the slight tension in doing so but the amusement they both receive from this continuous rivalry. anything to do with his treatment of snape might receive a much more sour note however, since he finds severus one of the most intolerable creatures he's ever met. :p yes, i think i meant to conclude, here, that a meeting between them where they're required to work together sounds extremely appealing.
