and then the days got worse and worse, and now you've seen, i've gone completely out of my mind.REGULUS ARCTURUS BLACKsixteen | slytherin | pureblood | associated w/ de's | seeker | fifth year sly, cunning, and arrogant. having grown up in a home where his parents treated him like a prince, he has an attitude that he is above others. others being tainted wizards and witches (including half and mud bloods). unlike some wizard and witches, he does not seek out people to pick on. rather, his attitude rubs off on people from conversations heard around the castle that he is involved in. if anyone tries to join him, he often turns them down, if he knows they are not like him. rather sneaky, he can get around the castle practically undetected. often times, he'll evesdrop on his fellow students, gaining information about them without them knowing. if it'll help him in any way, he will give up information on someone for his own gain.
intelligent. loyal. dedicated. ambitious. despite popular belief in his family that slytherin is always the house that the members are placed in, the hat had second doubts. it felt that he could have been a good fit in ravenclaw where he could excel given his smarts. having been treated with the ability to read in a personal library, regulus gained plenty of knowledge before attending hogwarts. he also has a knack for potions, something he takes great pride in. loyalty is something loosely used for him. he has a strong loyalty to his house elf, kreacher along with the dark lord and his followers. they enable him more gain than anyone else thus he will not betray them unless otherwise. it's very rare for him to stay loyal to someone without turning them over to those that he is truly loyal to. he has great ambition for his goals to excel at things such as potions and quidditch.
dependent. easily persuaded. regulus is not the bravest person in hogwarts. in fact, he is very dependent on others to defend him. considering he is usually surrounded by others, he will not try to defend himself unless it truly requires it. kreacher has even shown up to defend him on some occasions. this is mainly because regulus does not find it to be much use to defend himself nonstop. luckily for him, most people do not bother with him as he does not go picking fights. when it comes to being with the death eaters, he will often time avoid duels, preferring to run instead or allow more bloodthirsty death eaters go after the others. regulus is considered loyal to voldemort though as he has provided information and will do any tasks necessary. being dependent means he also depends on his parents to do things for him at home. being persuaded, regulus is easily persuaded. sometimes, he will not want to go through with killing someone though is talked into by the others especially bellatrix lestrange. they cut him some slack only because of his age which won't last long. he is often seen with bags under his eyes from lack of sleep due to stress about what he has gotten himself into.
admission to st. mungo's over the past summer, he was admitted to st.mungo's since he was hearing voices wherever he went. this is one reason he does not defend himself unless necessary as he has been haunted by what he has been doing. the voices are of people that have been tortured in front of him. this year, he has had a knack for keeping to himself and only surrounding himself when he needs protection. some people consider him to be crazy now as he has been seen talking to himself at times.

regulus and sirius
for these two, they're obviously related and not so happily. i imagine their most cordial moments would have been during their earlier childhood, perhaps before either of them impressed/disappointed their parents by being sorted into the right/wrong house, but definitely before regulus attended hogwarts. i think that regulus may not have been the favourite child initially (but feel free to disagree!) until sirius started to get everything wrong, from being sorted into gryffindor and failing to uphold their racist pureblood views. they might have been even more than civil in their very early days, before sirius realised that regulus would begin to stand more by their parents than what he believes to be right. i'm not sure whether he'd feel any sympathy, because sirius, let's face it, seemed to have always been incredibly stubborn, especially when it came to his personal opinions of people/things. so, in this way their relationship has probably suffered quite a bit at this point in their teenage years, when the different paths they're taking have started to become even more painfully obvious. um, i lost track. let me know what thoughts you've got. regulus & sirius i would imagine sirius being the favorite before being sorted and expressing his views of blood types given that he was their first son. they were perhaps close when they were younger as you said before they started developing their ideas of things and siding/rebeling with their parents. their current status, i believe is that they don't talk much at all and avoid each other. they have developed thoughts/feelings on their own of what the other may be doing with themselves. kinda like how sirius thought regulus got in too deep in the books and thats what caused regulus' death in the end. though really his brother turned in the end. i don't think sirius would know that his brother is quite stressed about everything and highly conflicted. if they do decide to talk (as i see the site as au), i'd imagine perhaps regulus would expression the conflicted feelings though will not act on them. he may even shun his brother after that, deciding best to not get involved with sirius if sirius offers him advice of not getting in too deep before he does. if that makes sense? xP

regulus and sirius
since you agree, we definitely know that sirius would have been the favourite son until he started to rebel and basically mess everything up that he would have been trained his whole childhood for, meaning that regulus would have been somewhat of a "replacement" for his wayward older brother. with this in mind and having seen the effect it's had upon sirius and his parents, i imagine regulus would be incredibly stressed (as you say) knowing that he can't also disappoint them. i definitely see sirius being uninterested in the emotions that his brother might be experiencing, thinking him stupid for even entertaining the beliefs and ways of their ancient and "most noble house." in this way, sirius might, in regulus' view, had it slightly easier although he's lost their support and care and potentially money through his reckless and unwanted behaviour, but at least he doesn't suffer the pressures from pureblood society as much as regulus has now been doubly forced into. it definitely would make sense from their perspectives to avoid each other since sirius wants to avoid anything to do with his family and regulus probably would face significant anger/disgust from his relatives for associating too regularly with his outcast brother. however, they can only avoid each other for so long, right? look what i found astraea & regulus i love this crackship <3 astraea had met regulus before starting hogwarts, because the averys are friends with the black family. she grew close to the youngest black than the older one, because sirius' attitude ticked her off. once they started, astrea being a year above him, they grew apart but that didn't stop her from keeping an eye on him and occasionally greet him in the common room. astraea would notice how regulus keeps talking to himself and she too believed he was going mental like everyone else. it was what pushed her to try to talk to him and get close to him like the way they once did. deep down, astraea misses her childhood friend even when he's changed now. so if regulus doesn't tell her what really bothers him she would tell her part of the story in hopes of getting him to open up. astraea's planning to become a death eater, but she isn't the type who likes killing people. bullying and manipulating are more her thing, murder however isn't something she will look forward to once she gets the dark mark. i think i'll stop here and not go any further until you let me know what you think. i would really love it if they somehow end up together because *points at the gif*, but that's totally up to you. add/edit/delete?
